It has to be said, the Costa del Sol still lays claim to some of the best beaches in Europe. Many of which offer toilets, showers and areas with lifeguards. Of course Spain would not be Spain if there was not an abundance of Restaurants and Beach Bars (Chiringuitos) with superb fresh local food.
The larger beaches will have plenty to offer for practicing watersports, including jet-ski's, banaba boats, pedalos and, for those with a head for heights, para-gliding! Visitors will be spoiled for choice with the abundance of affordable holiday apartments in Marbella, right on the sea-front.
World-famous ports include the riches of the marina de Puerto Banús, but also Marbella's own port is often a hive of activity, combining a working port with a marina where many large yachts are moored all year round. The ports are also the perfect base for adventure sports, including scuba diving. Full courses can be booked in Marbella, at just a short walk from the Skol apartment complex.
The port and promenade, with many bars, restaurants and shops are the best places to watch people go by and to be seen. Not just in Marbella, but all along the Costa del Sol.
The water temperature reaches a warm 24C in August, but, due to our fantastic climate, you will find people daring a dip in the sea even in winter.
